When teachers and peers create environments of belonging, students are more willing to participate, ask questions, and explore ideas deeply. In other words, connection isn’t an “extra”, it’s the foundation that makes meaningful learning possible. Belonging isn’t just a warm feeling. It’s the fuel that powers engagement, collaboration, and growth. Without it, content falls flat. With it, learning comes alive.
Classrooms provide structured environments essential for foundational learning and development of critical skills. Yet, an increasing body of research indicates that incorporating nature-based education alongside traditional classroom methods can significantly enhance cognitive, emotional, and social outcomes for students.
